Special emphasis on legal and technical translation by a native Italian translator!

My name is Marta, I have been a freelance translator and interpreter since 2006 and I work with language combinations of English, Spanish, Romanian and Italian, which is my mother tongue.

I currently live in Spain, where I work as a translator and interpreter for different agencies, both Spanish and foreign, and not only Italian.

I translate all kinds of texts, with special emphasis on legal and technical translations.

My basic principles when working in the area of freelance professional translations are absolute respect for deadlines, fluid communication with the client before, during and after the delivery of the project and, last but not least, accuracy in grammar, lexical-semantic, spelling and register of the final product.

I use Trados as a translation tool to ensure consistency and terminological accuracy in my projects and to make the task of translating faster and more efficient. I currently use the 2017 version, which I update regularly according to my clients' needs.

After graduating in Translation and Interpreting in Italy in 2005 with a degree in Spanish and English, I spent some time studying and working abroad, in Scotland, Romania and Spain.

In order to qualify as a professional translator, in 2007 I completed the Official Master's Degree in Translation and Interpreting for Public Services offered by the University of Alcalá de Henares, where I specialized in the translation and interpreting of legal and medical texts.

In the same year, driven by a special curiosity towards the Romanian language, the teaching of which was offered at the same university, I decided to study this new language and culture in depth. After a first brushstroke in Alcalá de Henares, I decided to attend the 6 years of the Official Language School in Madrid and I traveled to Romania on several occasions to strengthen my knowledge of the language.

I enjoy translating everything, especially professional medical translations, creatively searching for the solutions that best suit the text at hand, creating something new and at the same time able to convey all the content, meaning and strength of the original text.

I enjoy a good relationship with my clients, receiving feedback to improve every day and the collaboration that arises between Italian and English language professionals to achieve the best possible result for the final client.
