Professional technical and medical translator, localisation of software into English or Spanish
Professional freelance English to Spanish translator specialising in various technical fields ranging from medical translations, to technical English to Spanish translations such as IT translations, website translations, software localisation, automotive to aeronautics, engineering, biotechnology, environmental sciences and patents in these fields. I also often act as project manager for a group of three professional freelance translators who work in a coordinated manner to provide better translation services to our clients on large-scale projects. My experience as a freelance translator, both in-house and freelance, dates back to 1992, giving me more than 25 years of experience.
I have been working as a professional English translator for a long time, offering high quality translation services. I specialise in medical translations, technical translations, website translations and other areas of professional translations.
I have a degree in English Philology from the University of Seville and two Master’s degrees specialising in translation, one of them from the UNED (UNED), which I passed with distinction, and dedicated to translation from English into Spanish (1993-1995), and the other, more recently, in medical translation from the Jaume I University in Castelló (2005-2006). During these years I have also been attending courses and training seminars to deepen my knowledge in many of the fields of work in which I carry out most of my medical and technical translation activities.
I belong to several associations and academic groups of interest for professional translations: I am a member of the IOL (Institute of Linguists, UK), ASETRAD (Spanish Translators Association), MEDTRAD (Internet discussion group on medical translation with restricted access to specialists), TILP (The Institute of Localization Professionals) and TREMEDICA, Organization of Translators of Medicine and Allied Sciences. I am very experienced in the use of different DTP programs such as FrameMaker, QuarXPress, Indesign, etc., as well as CAT programs: SDL Trados Workbench, MemoQ, Wordfast, Alchemy Catalysts, SDLX and Transit. If my qualifications and experience of professional translations can be of use to your company, I would be happy to enter into a relationship of mutual collaboration. If you would like to receive any references for my work, I can provide addresses and contacts of people who know me professionally, and if your company’s hiring policy includes translation testing, I would be happy to test translations as soon as I am available.
