Professional technical translations
Although I work in several fields, I prefer professional technical translations from English to Spanish. After all, I have a degree in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis on Telecommunications.

In addition, I have studied Financial Management at master’s level, as well as Marketing and Sales, General Management, Teaching and Health, Safety and Environment (university diplomas). My career began in 1992 as a Telecommunications Engineer at Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).
How English became part of my life
My father worked for Creole Petroleum Co., a Standard Oil/Exxon company in Venezuela, so I went to an American kindergarten. Moreover, my mother, who spent three years as a graduate student in San Antonio, Texas, spoke to me in English at home. After high school, I lived in the US for six months, and during university I started translating for my classmates.
Reading is one of my passions: technology, telecommunications, politics, psychology, sociology, economics and current affairs. Besides English and Spanish, my Brazilian Portuguese is intermediate and my Italian is basic.
My usual subjects include technical, legal, advertising, financial, economic and general translation.
Teaching, media and other activities
Throughout my career, and of course during my studies, I have regularly given talks and presentations. For eight years I was a university lecturer. Later, for two more years, I was Director (equivalent to Dean) of a private university institution, with monthly live interviews on radio and TV.
Nowadays, I work as an Industrial Safety Consultant and certified OHSAS 18001 auditor. I also host a radio show as a certified announcer and content producer. On top of that, I do professional translations and voice-over work.
My approach to translation
My translations are based on context and interpretation, on meanings; no one can do a good job in this market using exactly the same words as the source document, and you must know how to say things correctly in the target language – that’s why I only work with English to Spanish translations. And I can assure you that from me you will get a document with excellent grammatical and argumentative structures, spelling and punctuation marks.
