Who are Native Translators and what do we do?

Every day we are joined by several professional Spanish-speaking translators who work with a wide variety of languages. On the web there are not so many platforms where you can find them without long registration and waiting times, with no guarantee of a quality service.

That is why we decided to create an open access resource where we can solve problems such as: avoiding intermediaries with high additional costs, guaranteeing payment security through a secure translation guarantee service (STS), allowing direct contact between translator and client, as well as providing a transparent ranking of translators with client reviews.

What types of translation exist: a detailed overview

The world of translation is diverse and covers a wide range of texts and contexts. When choosing the type of translation, it is important to take into account the purpose, the audience and the particularities of the document. Depending on the form of presentation, the translation can be oral or written.

Oral translation

Consecutive interpreting: The interpreter listens to the speaker’s entire speech and then conveys its meaning in another language. It is used in negotiations, conferences and court hearings.
Simultaneous interpreting: The interpreter translates in real time while listening to the speaker. It is common at conferences and on television, and requires high qualifications.
Translation from a letter: The translator reads the text aloud and translates it simultaneously. Less frequently used, e.g. in presentations.
Chuchotage is a type of interpreting in which the interpreter whispers the translation directly into the ear of one or more listeners.

Written translation

Literary translation: Translation of literary works which requires not only linguistic knowledge but also a deep understanding of cultural peculiarities.
Scientific and technical translation: Translation of texts in the exact sciences, medicine, engineering, etc. Requires specialised knowledge in the relevant field.
Commercial translation: Translation of contracts, marketing material, financial statements. Requires accuracy and compliance with legal regulations.
Socio-political translation: Translation of news, articles, political documents. Requires knowledge of political terms and context.

The type of interpretation depends on the following factors

Type of text: Fiction, science, technical, legal, etc.
Aim of the translation: To inform, persuade, demonstrate.
Audience: Specialists, general public.
Accuracy requirements: Literal, complete, free translation.

Important to remember: A quality translation is not simply a matter of replacing words in a sentence with other words. It is a complex process that requires the translator to have a deep knowledge of the languages, culture, subject matter and experience.
